Hwang, ex-member of Sugar, is accused of misappropriating 4.3 billion won from her company and may face 3 years in prison.
On the 21st, Jeju prosecutors requested 3 years for Hwang for violating economic crime laws in the final trial at Jeju District Court, presided by Judge Lim Jae-nam.

Hwang is accused of taking 4.34 billion won, including 700 million won from Hunminjeongeum Entertainment, and investing it as advance payments in cryptocurrency in early 2022.
She reportedly put 4.2 billion won into cryptocurrency and used the rest for taxes and other expenses.
Hwang is the sole shareholder and artist of the family-run agency involved.
Her side acknowledged the charges and returned the misused funds by June 5, presenting documentation to Jeju Court.

Hwang's lawyers requested leniency, citing her intent to grow the company, lack of accounting knowledge, and belief in repaying to resolve issues. They emphasized no other victims exist and full repayment was made.
Hwang's sentencing is set for 10 a.m. on the 25th of next month.
